Adobe Reader throws error after Profile migration with PM 1.1
Hello forum
I have done a Profile migration from Roaming to UPM with PM 1.1 (Win2003 ->Win2008).
My testuser has a set of application containing Office and Adobe products (and other). I used sepago acs files for Apps and OS settings.
If my testuser just migrates with UPM from Roaming Profile, Adobe Reader works fine. If I migrate his profile with PM into UPM format, AcroRd32 throws me an error:
Runtime Error......This application has required the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
This happens regardless if I migrate AdobeReader settings or not.
Leads me to the question: Since AdobeReader is a "HelperApplication": How are Registry Settings being identified which are used by other apps to talk to AdobeReader, or information about Runtimes existing in various versions being used by a specific application?
I'll try the migration with V2.0 later and will keep you informed how that one behaves.
Cheers

Hello Mr. Geiler,
the described issue sounds familiar to me. Can you tell me which Adobe Reader version you are using?
Additionally check if on the target machine the AppData\LocalLow directory is existing.

Hello Mr. Akguen,
i tried the migration with PM2.0 (works now, the other error is fixed)...same result.
On the source system there is no Reader installed. On the target system it's Version 9.3.
Appdata\LocalLow exists only in the local profile, not in the UPM Profile

Good morning
I migrate from 203 to 2008, but did not define the destination profile architecture to be 2008, instead I left it back on 2003.
This leads Appdata in the UserShellfolders to look like the following: AppData = %userprofile%\Application Data
Adobe Reader 9.3 obviously does not like blanks in Roaming-based Appdata (see: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/391738 ,thread is dated back to 7/2008).
Hello! Blanks in pathnames!! How can that happen???
When I get back to PM2.0 and define my Default Profile being located on my destination 2008 XA Box, all is good.
Now we have appdata = %userprofile%\appdata\roaming.
Adobe Reader likes it and does not throw an error.
There is always hope.
Cheers
